Beginnings Podcast Live

We all know the stories of how creative people get into the business of creating for a living, but how did they start using their imaginations in the first place? On the Beginnings podcast, writer and performer Andy Beckerman asks well-known comedians, musicians, writers and artists about their earliest creative acts and about other formative childhood experiences. Situated halfway between the light breeziness of Who Charted? and the neurotic psychoanalysis of WTF, Beginnings is fun, weird and informative!

Beginnings is featured live monthly at the Upright Citizens Brigade’s East Village Theatre, and around the country at festivals like the Del Close Marathon, The MOCCA Indie Comics Fest, and the Out of Bounds Festival in Austin, TX. Beginnings was also part of a show on Scott Aukerman’s (Mr. Show, Comedy Bang! Bang!) Earwolf podcast network. Guests have included actors like Matt Walsh from Veep, SNL's Rachel Dratch and Alex Karpovsky from Girls; musicians like Carl Newman from The New Pornographers and John Darnielle of The Mountain Goats; cartoonists like Bill Griffith and Gabrielle Bell; comedians like Pete Holmes, Jon Glaser and Aisha Tyler; as well as writers from The Daily Show, Colbert, SNL, Totally Biased, Letterman and many others.
