Matthew Mayer

Matt Mayer is a writer, director, and performer at the UCB Theatre in NY. He can be seen on Harold Night, on Tuesdays, performing with Sherlock & Cookies. He is a former member of Harold teams Monstro, CAPTCHA, Very Good Kiss, and Johnny Romance, and a former Writer/Director/Editor for the UCBcomedy.com BETA team The Brig.

Matt was the director and editor for the 2012 internet video Shit New Yorkers Say, which has over 3.5 million views.

Matt has been studying improv and sketch comedy at UCB since 2006. He has studied improv under Ari Voukydis, Joe Wengert, Shannon O'Neill, Michael Delaney, Anthony King, Porter Mason, Eliza Skinner, Rob Riggle, Curtis Gwinn, Charlie Sanders, Christina Gausas, Neil Casey, Chris Gethard, and Armando Diaz, and sketch under Eric Scott, Charlie Sanders, and Ryan Karels.

Matt has been in several short films, including recent 3rd place winner of the SVA Live Action Short Film Graduate Film Festival, Blue Beat. He has appeared on the UCB stage in High School Talent Show, Cool Show 4 Teen Girlz, The Sleepover, ImproVerite: The Documentary, and Wildhorn!: Musical Improv. He also can be seen at Cagematch and the UCBW Pay-Per-Views as Razor Raymond.

Matt directed the show Welcome To Camp, written and performed by Abbi Jacobson. He also did the graphics for Shannon O'Neill's one-woman show Prison Freaks: A Talent Show, directed by Will Hines.
